PERTH (Australia) – The National Basketball Association (NBA) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) in collaboration with the National Basketball League (NBL), today announced that the 14^thedition of Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Asia will be held at Warwick Stadium in Perth from September 19.  The camp, which marks the third time BWB Asia will take place in Australia, will be part of the first-ever HoopsFest, a multi-day basketball competition and fan event supported by Basketball Australia celebrating the biggest weekend in Australian basketball history.

BWB Asia 2024 will bring together 30 boys and 30 girls ages 17 and under from across Asia-Pacific to learn directly from current and former NBA, WNBA and FIBA players, legends and coaches and compete alongside their peers from across the region.  The campers and coaches, who will be announced prior to the camp, will also take part in life-skills, leadership development and social responsibility programming.

Hosted by the NBL and Basketball Australia, HoopsFest will feature a series of basketball tournaments, events and festivities, which will bring together the Australian basketball community in Perth, Western Australia.

BWB Asia 2024 will be supported by Nike, a global partner of BWB since 2002, which will outfit participants with Nike apparel and footwear, and Gatorade, which will keep players and coaches hydrated throughout the camp.

Forty-one former BWB campers were among the record 125 international players on opening-night rosters for the 2023-24 NBA season, including 2022 NBA All-Rookie Second Team member and NBA Global Academy graduate Josh Giddey (Chicago Bulls; Australia; BWB Asia 2018 and BWB Global 2020), Josh Green (Charlotte Hornets; Australia; BWB Global 2018) and 2020 NBA All-Rookie Second Team member Rui Hachimura (Los Angeles Lakers; Japan; BWB Global 2016).

BWB has reached more than 4,500 participants from 142 countries and territories since 2001, with 127 former campers advancing to the NBA or WNBA.  The NBA and FIBA have staged 77 BWB camps in 51 cities across 33 countries on six continents.
