MIES (Switzerland) - FIBA's grassroots participation program, HerWorld, Her Rules, continues to go from strength to strength after it was confirmed recently that the 2024 global delivery will be the biggest on record.
Her World, Her Rules is one of FIBA's most recognized initiatives in women's basketball and is part of its global strategic priority - Women in Basketball. A unique project and social media campaign, it is aimed at promoting women's and girls' basketball across the globe through various activities delivered in partnership with National Federations.
A total of 85 National Federations have now netted funding from FIBA for the 2024 period after having their bids reviewed and approved, with National Federations in Europe confirmed late last month. Since its inception in 2018, an impressive 133 National Federations from FIBA's five regions have engaged with the initiative - 30 from Africa, 21 in the Americas, 21 from Asia, 47 from Europe and 14 in Oceania.
Her World, Her Rules has also been an important driver of FIBA's strategic priority of Women in Basketball and the specific goal to increase female player participation.
The program has also been previously supported by FIBA Global Partner TCL, with legendary players such as Alba Torrens, Emma Meesseman, Breanna Stewart, and FIBA Players' Commission Deputy Chair Sonja Vasic all having given their endorsement.
